Spent about a half hour here around 4pm on a Saturday. Only a few other families there so we didn’t have to wait long to sit in each piece of machinery. Pre-school age child liked getting in each o…Full review by Amy_WDM

No food or drink should be brought in. As mentioned, I don't believe a small hand held snack would be objected to but definitely not on the displayed equipment. Benches are conveniently located just outside the pavilion where one could picnic and several restaurants within walking distance.

The parking lot for the Pavilion isn't big enough, I would say you would have to park on the street, most of the businesses around have parking but it is posted for their customers only.
I have 6 and 9 year old boys and a 14 year old girl. I know the amount of time spent will vary, but, on average, how much time should we allow to visit the Pavillion?

When visiting the pavilion, I would give yourselves 45 mins to an hour to visit the pavilion. There are several large pieces of equipment and video displays to look at and a couple construction equipment simulators to try out. Also, make sure to ask questions to the guides there as they are very knowledgeable and fun to talk to. Also, give time to stop by the John Deere store, I would say a half hour to 45 mins. Also, if it works out, schedule this all right before lunch and walk over east of the pavilion down the alley and there is a great restaurant called the river house. They have excellent food and great atmosphere (make sure to check out the ceiling fans). There is also a neat little craft and embroidery store in the same building worth checking out after.
