Coco Gauff and Carlos Alcaraz are this year's French Open singles champions after taking home their respective final matches over the weekend at Stade Roland Garros. Gauff defeated world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in three sets Saturday to claim the women's singles title and become the first American woman to win the French Open since Serena Williams did so in 2015.

Two American men made the quarterfinals in the feisty Frances Tiafoe and chilled Tommy Paul - the first male players from the United States to progress that far since Andre Agassi in 2003. Italian Lorenzo Musetti played with flair to reach the semifinals and could be a challenger to Sinner and Alcaraz.

Top-seeded Jannik Sinner is still looking for his first French Open victory and inched closer with a straight-set victory over the legendary Novak Djokovic in the semifinal. With the victory, Sinner advanced to the French Open final for the first time in his career.
