It's time to look up at the night sky. The Lyrids - Spring's first meteor shower - are known for producing bright-flashing fireballs, according to NASA.

The Lyrids are expected to peak shortly after Easter, giving stargazers a nice show a week after the full moon brightens Kentucky's night skies.

The full moon known as the pink moon begins to set as clouds roll over Mt. San Jacinto in the early morning of April 24, 2024 in Palm Springs, Calif. This month also brings a micromoon. The full moon on April 12 occurs just before reaching apogee (the point when the moon is farthest from the Earth), which happens at 6:49 p.m. Sunday, April 13.
