Coach Billy Donovan lightly skirted Ball’s playing time restriction — previously set at 20 minutes — to keep Ball on the court in Monday’s win over the Toronto Raptors. Ball delivered, sinking a 3-pointer to give the Bulls a six-point lead with 68 seconds left and assisted on the clinching basket by Nikola Vučević with 14 seconds remaining.

Josh Giddey has also been downgraded from questionable to out because of a right ankle sprain. It looks like Giddey won't be the only name being downgraded for the Chicago Bulls tonight. The team also revealed that Lonzo Ball has been unexpectedly downgraded as out due to an illness.

While the Chicago Bulls and Zach LaVine are reportedly engaging in trade talks, including a potential deal with the Denver Nuggets, Lonzo Ball could be on the move. The Bulls could soon be gauging Ball’s trade value for a potential reserve to add to their 2024-25 roster.
