Costa Rica joins a growing list of Latin American nations to serve as a stopover for migrants as Trump 's administration pushes for more deportations.

The flight from San Diego landed in San José, the Costa Rican capital, on Thursday evening. The group of migrants on board included dozens of children, officials said.

Migrants deported from the U.S. could be held in Costa Rica for up to six weeks before being sent to their home countries, Costa Rican President Rodrigo Chaves said on Wednesday.
