The Denver Department of Public Health and Environment announced Monday that the city's first human case of West Nile virus this season has been confirmed. Officials in Jefferson County have also confirmed their first human cases of the virus,

City health officials on Monday urged Denverites to take precautions against mosquitoes after confirming the first case of West Nile virus in a Denver resident this week.

Eleven people in Colorado have tested positive for West Nile this year, including five who developed neurologic symptoms and three who needed hospital care. One person died from the virus.

Denver Mayor Mike Johnston reveals more details about the Vibrant Denver Bond proposal that will be before voters in November.

The Denver City Council unanimously approved the proposal that allocates that money to 60 projects throughout the city.

This year's bond proposal will be separated into five different categories. Voters will be able to approve or deny each one.
