MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Anthony Edwards scored 34 points and became the Minnesota Timberwolves’ career leader in 3-pointers in a 133-104 victory over the Denver Nuggets 133-104 on Saturday. Edwards made 14 of 23 shots from the floor and scored 23 points in the second half as Minnesota pulled away after leading by 11 at halftime.

The Nuggets fell behind 6-0 and never led in a 133-104 loss Saturday afternoon at Target Center, snapping a four-game win streak. Dating back to Game 6 of the second-round playoff series that Minnesota rallied to win last spring, Denver (28-17) has lost four straight to its division foe. Two matchups remain this regular season, both at Ball Arena.

Twice this season they’ve beaten Denver. Minnesota has been stellar offensively on both occasions. It all stems from Edwards. Denver simply doesn’t have an answer for the guard. The Nuggets don’t have a premier perimeter defender to deter Edwards, nor do they have a rim protector to make him think twice about being aggressive.
