Elle King is addressing her controversial 2024 moment with a new song called “Banned From the Grand Ole Opry.” The country singer performed for fans in a social media video late last week. King admitted in January she was “hammered” during her cover of “Marry Me” at the “Opry Goes Dolly” show in honor of Dolly Parton’s birthday.

But King is herself addressing the incident in a new song – and claiming she’s “banned from the Grand Ole Opry.” Of course the Opry hasn’t addressed the incident publicly, other than in a reply to a tweet apologizing for the language that King used during her performance.
