India on Saturday accused Pakistan of violating a ceasefire agreement within hours of it taking effect, reporting gunfire and drone activity along the LoC. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said Indian forces were ordered to respond firmly and held Pakistan responsible for the renewed hostilities.

The first word of the truce came from President Trump, who announced that the two countries had reached a "full and immediate ceasefire," after talks mediated by the U.S.

India has accused Pakistan of repeatedly violating the ceasefire agreed earlier on Saturday in the disputed territory of Kashmir

The truce came after several days of the countries’ most expansive fighting in decades. One Indian official said the country would “deal strongly” with any violations.

A day after a ceasefire was reached, India says its strikes into Pakistani-controlled Kashmir and Pakistan last week killed more than 100 militants.

President Donald Trump floated "substantially" increasing trade with New Delhi and Islamabad following this weekend's cease-fire announcement.
