A lucky New Jersey lottery player won $2 million playing Powerball in Wednesday night's drawing, according to the Powerball website. The winning ticket matched the five white balls and had the Powerplay to double the prize. The winning ticket was sold through the third-party lottery app Jackpot.com, according to the New Jersey Lottery.

This is the second winning ticket sold in the Garden State in a week. The last one was sold on December 20 in Nutley. Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot continues to soar past $1 billion. The jackpot now stands at $1.15 billion for Friday night's drawing - the largest prize ever offered in the month of December.
