With several inches of snow forecast overnight and into Wednesday, some metro schools are either canceling classes or switching to virtual learning.

As the Kansas City metro prepares for the next round of winter weather, multiple school districts are started to announce they will be closed for Wednesday. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the entire metro that is in effect until 9 p.

Students, teachers and parents in the Kansas City area have endured scrambled school schedules so far in 2025. Between a record-breaking week of snow shortly after winter break, morning ice in early February and another winter storm expected to hit Wednesday, Feb. 12, area school districts are running out of their scheduled snow days.
