Rumblings emerged shortly after New York Jets owner Woody Johnson dismissed general manager Joe Douglas in November, claiming that the Jets would part ways with noteworthy veteran players such as quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Davante Adams during the upcoming offseason as part of a franchise reset.

The Jets 2024 season has yet to be completed. However, Gang Green’s front office has already turned its attention towards 2025.

The Green Bay Packers have a lot to play for in terms of the postseason to end 2024, but two former franchise greats are chasing NFL milestones over the final two games of the season. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers and receiver Davante Adams — now with the New York Jets — can hit special marks to finish 2024.

New York Jets Davante Adams, New York Giants Malik Nabers and New Orleans Saints Marquez Valdes-Scantling are officially playing in their respective games per NFL insider Adam Schefter. Nakobe Dean, Damar Hamlin, Shaq Barrett and Curtis Samuel are all out.

Despite entering the year with a healthy Aaron Rodgers, and reloading the offense with a midseason trade for his longtime teammate superstar wide receiver Davante Adams, the Jets have stumbled through game after game after game, sitting with a record of 4–11 heading into their final two games of the season.

The Jets may be struggling, but Davante Adams is finding his stride in New York. After making his Jets debut in Week 7 and scoring his first touchdown with the franchise in Week 9, Adams has scored five touchdowns in his last four games.

With an offense featuring Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams, the New York Jets didn’t expect to enter Week 17 holding a 4-11 record. However, it may not be the last time don their Jets jerseys together.
