LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Detroit Tigers have signed veteran utility man David Hensley to a minor-league deal, Houston TV reporter Ari Alexander reported Thursday night. If Hensley is added to camp as a non-roster invitee, the Tigers will have 59 active players when full-squad workouts begin on Monday.

Dixon Machado signed with the Cubs this week on a minor league deal, according to the team’s transactions. This will be Machado’s third stint with the Cubs. He first signed with the team in 2019, following his stint with the Tigers, then was part of the organization again in 202.
