Nick Kyrgios has been replaced in Australia's Davis Cup squad by Aleksandar Vukic after the former Wimbledon finalist suffered an abdominal strain in the lead-up to the Australian Open.

Lleyton Hewitt is disappointed a bit not to have Nick Kyrgios this week but isn't ruling out the 2022 Wimbledon finalist's return to the Davis Cup in the future. Between 2013 and 2019, the 29-year-old regularly competed in the Davis Cup.

The Davis Cup return of Nick Kyrgios is over before it started opening the door for Aleksandar Vukic to make his debut in this weekend’s tie against Sweden as reward for his breakout Australian Open performance.

Lleyton Hewitt has named an altered Australian Davis Cup team ahead of their qualifying tie against Sweden. Despite being named in the initial side, both Nick Kyrgios and Jordan Thompson have withdrawn through injury.
