Nicolas Jackson is set to miss more than a month of action with Chelsea dealt a significant injury blow. The Senegal striker has been Enzo Maresca ’s forward of choice across the campaign but faces a spell on the sidelines after sustaining a muscular problem.

Speaking ahead of the Brighton game, Maresca admitted the Belgian had “a long way to go” before returning. Wesley Fofana suffered a hamstring injury during Chelsea’s clash with Aston Villa in December. Maresca had previously hinted the defender could miss the rest of the season, though the Blues hope he could return before then.
