LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences has postponed the announcement of this year's Oscar nominations for a second time because of the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles, organizers said on Monday.

The official 97th Academy Awards is set to take place on March 2 but there have been calls to boycott the ceremony as a mark of respect for the victims of the LA wildfires.

This brings the nonprofit organization's total contributions to the Motion Picture & Television Fund over the past week to $1 million.

The 2025 Oscar nominations will be announced 7:30 a.m. CT in a live show from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles. The reveal is hosted by actor Bowen Yang of "Saturday Night Live" and actress Rachel Sennott.
