Some looking to attend the presidential parade inside Capitol One Arena in Washington, D.C., had to make a tough choice when they got to the security checkpoint outside: Ditch your bag, or lose a shot at seeing the presidential parade.

Former Vice President Mike Pence 's entrance into President Donald Trump 's inauguration was met with boos from Capital One Arena, where thousands of Trump supporters gathered ahead of the inaugural parade on Monday. Newsweek reached out to Pence's team for comment via email.

Capital One Arena policy does not allow for attendees to bring belongings inside for the inauguration celebration.

Billionaires at the Capitol on Monday included Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, billionaire Trump supporter Miriam Adelson, media mogul Rupert Murdoch and others.

Organizers announced they would have outdoor boards broadcasting events for supporters "not able to make it into the arena."

The reaction was the loudest of the morning from the crowd, which loudly booed the entrance of Biden and Harris minutes earlier.
