In one of his last official acts, former President Joe Biden early Monday pardoned members of the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attack — including Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif. and Rep. Pete Aguilar, D-San Bernardino — in an attempt to shield them from becoming targets during Trump’s second presidential administration.

Southern California is expected to be slammed with up to hurricane-strength gusts that could spark a growth in various wildfires through Tuesday morning, officials said.

After a brief respite, crews from California and nine other states, along with Canadian and Mexican reinforcements, face another round of dangerous conditions.

Crews fighting the fires were expected to be tested by strong Santa Ana winds of up to 80 kph with gusts reaching 105 kph.
