Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, a possible 2028 presidential candidate, took in Texas Democrats who fled their state to block a Republican-led redistricting plan.

Texas is asking a court in Illinois to enforce its warrant for the arrest of Democratic lawmakers who fled the state in an attempt to stop its redistricting efforts. More than 50 Democrats left Texas last week to deny Republicans a quorum in the state House in an attempt to block passage of a new congressional map.
