Magnus Carlsen won the Norway Chess title for the seventh time in his career, after a sensational fightback in the final round to draw against Arjun Erigaisi in the Classical game, which eventually put him out of reach of the likes of D Gukesh and Fabiano Caruana.

Magnus Carlsen clinched his seventh Norway Chess title after D Gukesh's loss to Fabiano Caruana in the final round. Carlsen secured the championship with 16 points, closely followed by Caruana and Gukesh.

World number one Magnus Carlsen, after clinching his seventh Norway Chess title on Saturday, noted that Indian chess stars D Gukesh and Arjun Erigaisi are very good but still need a little bit of time to prepare.
