Nine people have been charged with public order offences after pro-Palestinian protesters allegedly breached protest conditions as they marched from a rally in Whitehall to Trafalgar Square, breaking through a police line in the process.

Three more people have been charged after a pro-Palestinian protest in central London on Saturday. Thousands gathered in the city to express support for Palestinians, the day before a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas came into force.

These included the brutal arrest by a 10-man police snatch squad of Chris Nineham, a leading figure in the Stop the War Coalition (STWC).
