Perhaps the foot and ankle ailment that LeBron James used as an excuse to sit out of the NBA All-Star Game is a real ailment after all.

The Los Angeles Lakers will be the first team back on the court after the All-Star break. JJ Redick and company will play in the only game in Wednesday night’s NBA slate against the Charlotte Hornets in a game that was rescheduled from January’s fires in Los Angeles.

ESPN's Shams Charania reports that James is set for re-evaluation on Tuesday. The Lakers hope he can return to the court for at least one of the upcoming two games. The team wants to maximize his opportunities to build chemistry with Luka Doncic.
