Utahns are rallying around a Utah County family who experienced "the unimaginable" this weekend when a mother died unexpectedly just a week after delivering twins.

A Utah family is mourning after a new mom died a little more than a week after giving birth to twins. Morgan Hughes, 22, experienced complications after delivering her twins on Dec. 19, according to family members and news reports.

HIGHLAND, Utah (KUTV) — Morgan Hughes, a new mother, died shortly after giving birth to twins during the Christmas holiday. Communities are now coming together to support her grieving family. At the Lone Peak Fire District, where her father serves as a firefighter and where she spent much of her childhood, the impact of the loss runs deep.

Utah Hockey Club has lost a road game. It was a seven-game winning streak in other teams’ buildings, but the Seattle Kraken put an end to that on Monday night, beating Utah HC 5-2. Utah has now dropped three consecutive games.

After winning four consecutive games in December, Utah Hockey Club has dropped the next four. Such is life as a young team still learning to play consistent hockey and manage the ebbs and flows within a 60-minute game and 82-game season.
