Once the old Washington Mall is torn down, Costco will become the anchor tenant. When Costco takes over the property, which has been empty for more than a decade, it will be one of the biggest stores in southwest Pennsylvania, bringing hundreds of new jobs to the area.

Washington County commissioners said most of the old Washington Mall will be torn down to make way for new dining and retail. Those new locations will include a Costco store.

A major announcement has just been made in the redevelopment of a former mall set to be demolished in Washington County, Pennsylvania.

Costco is coming to WashPa. In a “major announcement” during their real estate expo Wednesday, the Washington County commissioners revealed that the retail warehouse club will become the anchor tenant at the Washington Mall site once that property is demolished and prepared for development.

It was a surprise ceremony at the White House presided over by President Donald Trump to unveil a $100 billion investment from what he called the world’s most powerful company, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).

It was recently announced that the old Washington Mall will be demolished to make way for new development and the anchor store will be Costco. Washington County’s Commissioners made the announcement during a real estate expo.
