NVIDIA will fool people with RTX 5080 in 2 years! - Reddit
Oct 23, 2022 · What’s going to happen is this: Nvidia will launch RTX 5080 for $799, and will compare it to RTX 4080 16GB $1199 since they unlaunched the 12GB version. They’ll say twice the performance of the 4080 and cheaper , WOW! In reality if they didn’t unlaunch it, the story would be so different. I am also saving this post for reference and wait for next gen GPU’s to …
Upgrade to "RTX 5080" at release date, possible? - Reddit
Jan 19, 2023 · The RTX 4080 SuperPods for GeForce Now are a server unit on which the graphics performance of a GeForce RTX 4080 is provided by an Nvidia L40G. And this L40G (and all successor cards) can be scaled up very quickly to provide similar performance to the new RTX50 generations. The new GeForce RTX 50 is expected in 2025.

Upgrade to 4080 super or wait for 5080? : r/pcmasterrace - Reddit
I know ultimately the decision is up to me, but, I'm curious what you would do. Currently running a 3080 Ti, great card but does have a tough time keeping up with my 1440 OLED 240 hz monitor at max refresh rate for most games. Tough decision for me honestly without much information on what the 50 series will bring, but at $999 I'm really considering going the 4080 super route
Should i wait for the 5080 ? : r/pcmasterrace - Reddit
A gtx 1080 was $599usd msrp. The rtx 2080 was $699usd msrp. 3080 was also supposed to be $699, the 12gb version was 799 msrp. 4080 released at $1199usd msrp. Unless inflation magically disappears by 50 series launch or something else changes considerably, I wouldn't bet on the speculated 5080 being $200 less.
Core i7 14700K for RTX 50 series : r/buildapc - Reddit
Dec 13, 2023 · The reason I bought an i7 14700K now is because I wanted to make it easier for myself to pay for an RTX 5080 next year, otherwise I would have to spend a huge amount of money for everything (motherboard + ram + cpu + gpu). Obviously no one knows how RTX 50 series or Arrow Lake will be like, I just wanted to get some opinions and speculate a little.
Upgrade path opinion: 3080 12GB -> 4070 Ti S -> 5080 - Reddit
So, as the title says, I’m thinking about upgrading. My current 3080 is hitting its limits with 4k gaming on AAA titles like Avatar. I was going to get a 5080 regardless if the 999 price point holds. But now I’m thinking about squeezing in a 4070 Ti S between the two. Main reason is I think I will end up with about the same net cost. Sell 3080 now before price tanks from 50 series release ...

Is it weird to stick with 1440p gaming and get Rtx 5080? - Reddit
5080 is likely a late 2024 release, will launch after 5090 for sure. I will be very fast for 1440p but not a waste. Expect 4090D/4090 performance. You can always use DLDSR to downscale 4K/UHD to 1440p and still take use of a fast card. 5090 is …
